In just about 3-4 hours of travel from Hanoi, you will arrive in Mai Chau – an ideal destination for those who love nature and ethnic culture. This place stands out with its lush green rice fields, picturesque mountains, and the traditional villages of the Thai people. During this tour, you can explore Lac Village, immerse yourself in the local community’s lifestyle, and enjoy traditional dishes such as grilled chicken and bamboo rice. Don’t forget to experience fun activities like cycling or participating in a textile workshop.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Hanoi  – Mai Chau Villages – Hanoi                                                         (Lunch)

07h15 – 7h45: The van and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the Old Quarter (If the hotel you are staying at is located on a restricted traffic street, we will guide you to the nearest pickup point) or at the Hanoi Opera House to depart for Mai Chau (Hoa Binh).

10h45: Visit Thung Khe Pass (White Stone Pass) – Admiring the vast beauty of nature, taking photos with the pristine backdrop of snow-covered cliffs, winding mountain roads, and small distant villages. At the top of this mountain pass, there is a small market where the Thai and Muong ethnic people sell local specialties to visitors: grilled corn, grilled eggs, skewered meat, lam rice, wild vegetables, and more. 

11h10: The group continues to travel to Lac village – a village inhabited by the Thai ethnic group.

12h00: Arrive at Lac Village. Enjoy lunch at the restaurant.

13h00: With the guide’s assistance, guests will visit Lac, Na Phon, and Nhot villages, exploring the small wooden stilt houses of the Thai people to learn about their unique culture. They will learn how to weave traditional Thai textiles, take photos, and participate in activities with the Thai people, such as weaving, performing traditional dances (such as Sap dance), or listening to the drum beats of the moon worship ritual.

15h15: The car and guide will take you back to Hanoi. On the way, you will stop for a break at a rest stop.

18h30 – 19h00: Arrive in Hanoi. The program ends. We look forward to seeing you again on another trip soon.
