Hoi An is the friendliest destination in Vietnam, followed by Phong Nha and Ninh Binh, according to the Traveller Review Awards 2024.
On the evening of February 20th, Booking.com announced the ranking of the top 10 friendliest destinations in Vietnam, a category within the framework of the Traveller Review Awards 2024.
Topping the list is Hoi An, the famous city of Quang Nam, home to the ancient town of Hoi An recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1999. Following closely behind are two equally renowned tourist destinations in Vietnam, Phong Nha and Ninh Binh. The remaining names on the list include Cao Bang, Phu Quoc, Ha Giang, Ha Long, Da Lat, Tuy Hoa, and Nha Trang. In 2023, Phong Nha claimed the top spot.

Booking also announced the top 10 friendliest destinations in the world for 2024, including Arraial d’Ajuda, Brazil; Ermoupoli, Greece; Viana do Castelo, Portugal; Daylesford, Australia; Grindelwald, Switzerland; Moab, USA; Uzes, France; Mazatlán, Mexico; Jaisalmer, India; and Fujikawaguchiko, Japan. In 2023, Ninh Binh was the only representative from Vietnam on this list, ranking 7th.
The ranking criteria for destinations are based on memorable travel experiences, beautiful landscapes, worthy of being top choices for travel along with hospitable attitudes, and the number of accommodation establishments certified as “friendly” by Booking. Hanoi is the destination with the most friendly accommodations in Vietnam, followed by Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat.
The order of destinations in the ranking table is arranged according to the ratio of award-winning accommodation establishments to the total number of accommodation establishments at that destination. To be certified, accommodations must have an average rating of 8/10, with at least 3 reviews until 11:50 PM on November 30th, 2023. Only those who have booked a room are allowed to review the accommodation they stayed in overnight; comments made after posting are not allowed to be edited to ensure objectivity.
