Best Time to Visit

The dry season, from November to May, offers the best hiking conditions.

During these months, trails remain relatively dry and safe. By contrast, heavy rain between June and October often makes the path slippery and more difficult to navigate.

After the trek, many hikers relax at nearby Cây Sao Beach and enjoy food or drinks by the sea.

How to Find the Trailhead

The trail begins on the east coast road between Cây Sao Beach Resort and Vaniza Resort.

Look for a blue farmhouse surrounded by a long concrete and stone wall. This landmark marks the starting point of the Núi Đá Bạc Trek.

Visitors traveling by motorbike or bicycle can park beneath a large tree near the farmhouse. The local family usually charges a small parking fee.

Entering the Jungle Trail

Walk to the southern end of the walled property. A fence blocks access to a concrete lane that climbs uphill.

Cross the fence and follow the concrete lane for approximately 100 meters. When the road curves right, continue straight ahead into the forest.

The transition from farmland to jungle is easy to recognize. Once inside the trees, look for a narrow but visible trail leading deeper into the forest.

What to Expect on the Trail

The trail occasionally features red paint markers on rocks and tree trunks. However, hikers should not rely entirely on these markers.

The route remains fairly easy to follow if you stay alert and pay attention to the terrain.

Several sections are steep. In fact, ropes attached to trees help hikers climb some of the more challenging slopes.

The path also contains rocks, roots, and vines. Therefore, sturdy footwear is strongly recommended.

Rainforest Scenery

The jungle provides plenty of shade throughout the hike.

Tall trees, twisting vines, and dense vegetation create a peaceful atmosphere. As you gain elevation, larger boulders begin to appear beside the trail.

Near the summit, the forest becomes more rugged and dramatic. Consequently, the scenery becomes even more impressive.

The First Viewpoint

Eventually, the trail levels out and enters a small clearing.

Here, two enormous boulders stand side by side. Many hikers compare them to giant stone figures rising from the forest floor.

Although these rocks create an interesting landmark, the best views lie a little farther ahead.

Panoramic Views Over Phu Quoc

Continue along the trail for several minutes. On the left side, a rocky outcrop extends above the jungle canopy.

From this viewpoint, hikers enjoy sweeping views across the east coast of Phu Quoc.

The panorama includes Cây Sao Beach, Hàm Ninh, Bãi Vòng, and the island’s southern coastline. On clear days, visitors can even see the Cambodian mainland and the Pirate Islands in the distance.

Because the viewpoint sits on exposed rock, extra caution is essential.

The Second Viewpoint

The Best View on the Trek

For many hikers, the second viewpoint is the highlight of the entire Núi Đá Bạc Trek.

Return to the giant boulders and continue beyond them. A large rock formation marks the entrance to the final viewpoint.

Climb carefully onto the boulder and cross a narrow wooden log bridge spanning a small chasm.

Although the crossing requires caution, the reward is exceptional.

180-Degree Mountain Panorama

The second viewpoint offers uninterrupted views across northern and eastern Phu Quoc.

Dense jungle stretches toward the horizon, while mountain ridges form a dramatic backdrop. Furthermore, the platform is larger and more comfortable than the first viewpoint.
