Origin of the Name Tuyet Tinh Coc

In the past, locals called this site Dragon Cave because its entrance looked like a dragon’s mouth when viewed from afar.

In 1010, when King Ly Thai To moved the capital to Thang Long (present-day Hanoi), people cleared the cave and turned it into a peaceful retreat. At that time, they named it Am Tien Cave.

Later, visitors gave it the poetic name Tuyet Tinh Coc after being impressed by its serene and enchanting scenery. Today, Am Tien Cave and Dragon Cave remain alternative names for Tuyet Tinh Coc.
